Privacy & Security

A letter from our founders
As consumers, we care about privacy just like you do and we think you deserve to know exactly what you can expect from your ReUpp buy-back experience. We started ReUpp with the belief that everyone should participate in the benefits of the circular economy.
We think of our privacy policy in simple terms…we do not sell your personal information. Ever.
ReUpp works by finding out the most in-demand products on the resale market and by offering you a buy-back rate if you choose to sell down the road. Contributing to a sustainable path forward for the fashion and retail industry. When you buy something with a ReUpp buy-back offer, we make money if you decide to sell that item down the road. We do not need to (or want to) sell your information.
So how do we use your data?
First and foremost, we analyze some information on the retail website you're on so that we can look for the highest buy-back rate we can offer you. Also, we collect limited shopping data to support the ReUpp community. That means ReUpp members share real-time information products with the rest of the community to help us offer you the highest rates on most in demand items.
Our stance on privacy is simple: We will be transparent with what data we collect and how we use it to help try and earn you money and you can decide if you're good with that.
If this sounds fair, then let's start shopping together creating a future in retail we can all be proud of.
P.S. If you have any questions or comments, you can reach out to us at privacy@reupp.co

Introducing the Privacy Policy
This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how ReUpp Software Inc. (“Reupp” or “we”) collects and processes information from members and users of the website, software applications, and other online services we provide (collectively “Reupp's products”). Reupp's products include, but are not limited to, the Reupp extension for web browsers (the “Extension”), the Reupp mobile application (the “Mobile App”), and the website located at www.reupp.co (the “Website”).
If we ever need the additional personal information for a specific reason, we will tell you and ask for your permission. Also, to the extent that Reupp has links to other websites (like retailers), please note that we do not own, operate, or control them, and they have their own controlling privacy policies that you should review.
What data do we collect and why
In order to provide our products, Reupp collects information that you share directly with us when you use our website, extension, or Mobile App. Though you don't have to, you can choose to provide your email to set up an account with us, which lets you add items to your ReUpp list, see a personalized recommendation feed, and more. You can also set up your profile with your name and other info for a more personalized experience.
Reupp also collects technical information about your device and the use of Reupp to make sure that our products are working correctly. The information we collect is geared toward providing Reupp members with a better way to shop online and to help us develop, improve, and market our services.
Reupp does not track your search engine history, emails, or your browsing on any site that is not a retail website (a site where you can shop and make a purchase). When you are on a pre-approved retail site, to offer you a buy-back offer Reupp will collect information about that site that lets us know which offer to show you. We may also collect information about pricing and availability of items, which we can share with the rest of the Reupp community.
Shopping and Usage Data
On retail sites, Reupp collects the name of the retailer, page views, and in some cases, product information that allows us to track price changes and update our product catalog. We also collect limited information regarding your purchases on a retail site while using Reupp (for example, the order total, what was purchased, and the fact that an order was completed) for purposes including internal analytics and the ability to offer you a buy-back. The information you share, and we collect, enables us to improve our products and gives us insights into the pricing, and availability of retail items. We may also use this information to provide you with a more tailored, relevant experience or show sponsored product offers that may interest you.
Aggregate and Anonymized Data
We may also use the information we collect in aggregate or otherwise anonymized form. This lets us look at interactions with our site and products generally and does not identify you or any specific person. We use this general data for research, development, marketing, and analytics, and to enhance the shopping experience for the Reupp community.
What data we do not collect
We collect information that we believe can help us provide personalized buy-back offers. This does not include, and we do not collect, any information from your search engine history, emails, or websites that are not retail sites. We also do not collect bank or credit card information.
How we share your data
We know how important your personal data is to you, so we will never sell it. We'll only share it with your consent or in ways you'd expect (as we explain here). That means we will share your data if needed to complete your purchase, with businesses who help us operate Reupp, or if we are legally required to do so.
We may share information with our service providers (businesses that work for and with us) for the purpose of running Reupp and fulfilling our commitments to you. These include businesses that perform services on our behalf, including helping us maintain our products, providing support for legal, banking, security protection, payment processing, our own marketing, and customer service. Please know that when we share information with our service providers, it's for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy and not for their independent use. For example, we use Google's fraud prevention tool ReCaptcha on parts of our website, but it is only used to fight spam and abuse.
We may also share information in the following cases:
-
with your express consent;
-
in an aggregate or anonymized format that does not identify any specific person;
-
as required by law, or to comply or respond to a valid government request;
-
when we believe in good faith that it's necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, or investigate fraud; and
-
with a buyer or successor if Reupp is involved in a merger, acquisition, or similar corporate transaction. If that happens, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Website of any change in ownership, as well as any choices you will have as a result.
How we protect your data
The security of your information is important to us. We have a team dedicated to protecting your information and have put in place physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards.
These measures include limiting access, using encryption, testing for vulnerabilities, advanced malware detection, employing pseudonymization and anonymization techniques, and more.
Though we hate to say it, despite our efforts, we can't guarantee that user information will not be accessed, viewed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed as a result of a breach of any of our safeguards. You provide us with information at your own risk.
Reupp only retains information about you as long as you keep using Reupp, though we’ll keep information if we need it to meet our legal obligations and defend against legal claims.
How we use cookies and similar technologies

Any personal information that we collect and store through the use of these technologies for categories 2 through 4 above is based on your consent, obtained through a conspicuous disclosure on our website during your first visit. You can withdraw this consent in your account settings. If you want to disable cookies entirely, your browser or mobile device might have the option to do that.
